Rwanda receives €10m support from Belgium for electricity access roll out

Part of the grant will go to the upgrading of existing networks.

The governments of Rwanda and Belgium have signed a financing agreement worth €10 million (approximately Rwf 8.7 billion) to support the electricity access roll-out program (EARP) through the Rwanda Energy Group.

This financial agreement will see Belgium contributing €10 million while Rwanda will supplement it with € 2million. The grant support will improve access to reliable on-grid electricity services for households and priority public institutions. Click here to read more
